Tensions in the already volatile Middle Eastern regions have now reached boiling point after Saudi Arabia's minister of defence Adel al-Jubeir informed reporters that War with Iran is possible. Already the American attaché to the Pentagon has admitted that they have placed a new ballistic missile defence system and two Patriot systems, on standby ready to be shipped to the Saudis, if the current tensions escalate into an all-out war between the two Middle Eastern countries.
The new escalation in tensions between both Saudi Arabia and Iran comes after an attack on two Saudi oil facilities which Saudi sources say came from Iran, the Iranian government denies all responsibility for the attacks, even though a US-based assessment was backed by Germany, the UK and France.
When asked by correspondents whether it was possible that the claim made by the Iran-aligned rebel Houthi movement in Yemen that they used drones for the recent attack, Prince Adel al-Jubeir said that this was not possible as the rebel Houthi movement did not have either the range or complexity to mount such an attack.
Contacted by reporters at the United Nations Assembly in New York Mr Jubier was extremely quick to add that no one wants war in the region so are looking at all possibilities to avoid an escalation which some say will cause the mass destruction of 90% of the Middle East, adding that Saudi Arabia has tried the appeasement route with Iran but to no avail chillingly adding that it was now time to look at alternatives.
Author's note: It would once again seem that the world is at the juncture of a catalytic disaster which once started will be the point of no return. We pray that somehow, someone will negotiate a way out of what could be a worldwide disaster of horrific proportions
